The Anchor Weekend: August 8 and 9
The second weekend of August is the densest cultural weekend of the Pittsburgh summer. Barrel & Flow Fest — the country’s first brew fest built around Black brewers, drinkers and artists — returns to The Stacks at 3 Crossings on Saturday, August 8.
Sunday, August 9, the same grounds host 400 Degreez: a 21+ hip hop, R&B and trap day party from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with four DJs across five hours. Two events, one address, one weekend. If you only make one trip this summer, make it that one.
Day Parties Have Taken Over the Format
The biggest shift in the last few summers is the move from late-night to daytime. Outdoor day parties running roughly 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM have become the default for a reason: better weather, better sound outdoors, a crowd that is there to dance rather than to wait, and an ending time that does not cost you your Monday.
400 Degreez runs exactly that window. Digital Dave opens at 4:00, QRX comes in at 4:30, Arie Cole at 5:00, and DJ KK takes 6:00 to 7:00 — staggered so the afternoon builds rather than resets.
Look for DJ-Driven Events, Not Just Headliners
